As part of the 65th International Flower Festival, Namangan State University hosted an international scientific and practical conference entitled “Opportunities for the Effective Utilization of Regional Economic Potential in Ensuring the Sustainable Development of the National Economy.”

At the opening ceremony, the University’s Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Abdug‘affor Nazarov, delivered a welcoming address. In his speech, he highlighted the reforms being implemented in the country to promote the socio-economic development of regions, ensure the rational use of available opportunities and resources, and facilitate the widespread application of scientific achievements in practice.

During the conference, participants comprehensively discussed issues related to the effective utilization of regional economic potential in ensuring the sustainable development of the national economy. They presented proposals and opinions on maximizing the use of regional resources and opportunities, accelerating economic growth, and developing scientifically grounded solutions to current challenges in this field.

Particular attention was devoted to reducing economic disparities among regions, diversifying economic sectors, developing cluster-based systems, promoting industrial specialization, and ensuring the efficient use of resources. In addition, special emphasis was placed on introducing the principles of the green economy, ensuring environmental sustainability, improving the investment climate, and supporting innovative activities.

The conference featured presentations on the technological modernization of production processes, the broader adoption of digital technologies, the improvement of transport and logistics systems, the development of energy and water supply infrastructure, support for entrepreneurship, and the strengthening of industrial cooperation.

Participants also exchanged views on the development of small businesses and private entrepreneurship, the expansion of agribusiness opportunities, the improvement of industrial zone operations, the effective implementation of localization programs, the enhancement of regional governance systems, and the efficient use of public-private partnership mechanisms.

The conference further addressed issues related to training highly qualified specialists who meet labor market requirements, developing human capital, and strengthening cooperation among education, science, and industry.

The international scientific and practical conference brought together scholars and experts from China, Pakistan, Egypt, Iran, and Türkiye, as well as professors, lecturers, and researchers from leading higher education institutions across Uzbekistan. Nearly 200 scientific articles and conference papers were submitted for presentation.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants emphasized that the scientific proposals and recommendations put forward during the event would contribute significantly to the more effective utilization of regional economic potential, the strengthening of economic stability, and the implementation of practical initiatives aimed at supporting the country’s continued development.
